Eaton's Cooper Power series Form 7 control school is a two-day course which enlists in-depth training of the recloser control and ProView NXG application software. Training topics include: 

• Brief overview of recloser basics
• Form 7 Control Hardware
• Form 7 local HMI operations
• ProView File management, Down-load files to Form 7 control
• Protection and control features
• Hands-on programming and training exercises
• ProView NXG software basic features and functionality
• ProView NXG software advanced features and functionality
• SCADA communications
• Cybersecurity tools
• ProView NXG – Workbench NXG basics
• Control testing and troubleshooting
• Recloser/Control and Padmount switchgear factory tour

Participant preparation/items to bring

• Laptop PC with Windows 10 OS minimum
• Flash Drive - (8GB min)
• USB cable – Type A and B connectors
• Download and install the currently released software and firmware files on PC – prior to 1st day of Workshop

• ProView NXG software - latest release
• CODESYS software - latest release
• Form 7 .7UP firmware - latest release

• PPE provided
  •  Safety glasses with side-shields.
  •  Steel toe caps.
  •  Hearing protection is required in specific areas of the factory.  

Instructors

The instructors are highly qualified engineers with extensive practical knowledge and industry experience in recloser and control application, design, and operation in both the utility and industrial environments. This training is not associated with Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Participants

This training school is for engineers, technicians, salespersons, or professionals interested in the application and operation of recloser controls on electrical distribution systems and in industrial applications. A background in the electrical power industry will be helpful.

Enrollment

Early registration is encouraged, as some workshops sell out. Eaton reserves the right to cancel the training 30 days prior to the starting date. Registrants may cancel up to seven days before the workshop.  All other costs incurred due to a cancellation are the responsibility of the registrant.

Format

• Interactive two days of lectures, hands-on participation and demonstrations.
• Hands-on portions of the training may require pairing of participants. 
• We promote interaction between attendees and the instructors during the training.
• Class size up to 16 attendees.
• Shuttle service is provided for the 2-day training and Tuesday evening event. Meet in lobby at 7:30am each day to board the shuttle.
• Workshop runs from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Meals

• Lunch is provided each day of the training.
• A group dinner is sponsored by Eaton on Tuesday night.  Spouses and significant others are warmly welcomed.

Travel and lodging

• Air travel – Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. For return flights on the last day of the class, a departure time no earlier than 5:30pm is recommended.  Participants cover all travel expenses.

Lodging – Comfort Suites Milwaukee Airport, 6362 S. 13th St, Oak Creek, WI  – travel time to recloser plant  A block ~12 minutes.  A block of discounted rooms is available for a limited time.
