Eaton's Cooper Power series Form 7 control school is a two-day course presenting an in-depth training of the recloser control and ProView NXG application software.
Training topics include:
- Recloser basics
- Form 7 Control Hardware
- Protection and control features
- Hands-on programming and training exercises
- ProView NXG interface software basics
- ProView NXG software advanced features
- SCADA communications and cybersecurity
- Control testing and troubleshooting
- Recloser and pad mount switchgear factory tour
Participant preparation/items to bring:
- Lap top pc with Windows 10 OS minimum.
- Installed on pc - ProView NXG software 3.11.0 or newer version.
- Installed on pc - CODESYS software 3.5.19.50

- USB cable – Type A and B ends.
Instructor
The instructors are highly qualified engineers with extensive practical knowledge and industry experience in recloser and control application, design, and operation in both the utility and industrial environments. This training is not associated with Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Participants
This training school is intended for engineers, technicians, salespersons, or professionals interested in the application and operation of recloser controls on electrical distribution systems and in industrial applications. A background in the electrical power industry will be helpful.
Enrollment
Early registration is encouraged, as some workshops sell out. Eaton reserves the right to cancel 30 days prior to the starting date, in which case a full refund will be given. Registrants may cancel up to seven days before the workshop to receive a full refund. Other costs incurred due to a cancellation are the responsibility of the registrant. Substitutions can be made at any time at no extra cost.
Format
- The school is of interactive two days of lectures, hands-on work, demonstrations and troubleshooting sessions.
- Hands-on portions of the training may require pairing of participants.
- Interaction between attendees and with the instructors is encouraged during the training.
- Class sizes range up to 16 attendees.
Travel and lodging
- Air travel – Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. For return flights on the last day of the class, a departure time no earlier than 7 P.M. is recommended. Attendees are responsible for travel expenses.

- Meals – Continental breakfast included at the hotel. Lunch will be provided each day of the training. A group dinner will be sponsored by Eaton on Tuesday night.
- Airport shuttle service – Shuttle transportation is provided by Comfort Suites from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport.
- Shuttle services daily to and from training – Shuttle service to and from the hotel, training, and dinner day will be provided.
